Time: Our organization is year-round and therefor requires a great deal of time and commitment. Daily rehearsals are mandatory. Missing practice not only can set back your dancer, but the whole team. Our calendar is available on our Lariaette website. Majority of dates for the year are planned months in advance, and changes made are given with as much notice as possible.
Money: It is most expensive for a first-year member, as there is the initial start up cost of purchasing all your practice wear and performance accessories. A returning member has a significantly lower initial cost each year. Each Lariaette will have annual dues to cover the costs of year: contest entry fees, supplies, banquet, props, choreography, music, Spring Show costs, transportation, meals, and numerous other aspects of the program. Lariaettes are expected to participate in fundraisers and those funds are applied to their dues balance. Their remaining dues balance must be paid out of pocket. If a member at any time quits, the balance must be paid to be released from the class. There are absolutely NO REFUNDS!
Tryouts: Lariaettes are expected to tryout for every dance during the year.
Lariaette Officers: Lariaette “Hopefuls” and their parents need to be aware of the authority and role of the officers. Although all Lariaettes are high school students, officers have the responsibility to lead and discipline the team when instructed to do so by the director. Line members will be expected to adhere to the requests of and respect their officers.
Constitution & Demerit System: Lariaettes are governed by a constitution and employs a demerit system. Demerits are given for tardiness, absenteeism, forgetting items or money that are due, incorrect attire, not fulfilling obligations, and various other major and minor offenses. Dance team members will be put on probation at 10 demerits and eventually dismissed upon accumulation of 15 demerits.
Academics: Academics are the most important priority. We adhere to the the UIL “no pass, no play” rule and guidelines.
Volunteers: Parental Support is often needed during the year. Parent volunteers are instrumental to the running of our organization. Parents are strongly encouraged whenever volunteers are needed.
